Loop English

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Loop English ("we", "our", "the App") is a voice-based English language learning app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. By using Loop English, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Voice recordings

When you talk to one of our AI characters during a call, your microphone audio is recorded for the duration of each turn (from tap-to-record to tap-to-send). The recording is sent to ElevenLabs Scribe for speech-to-text transcription and is discarded immediately after the text is returned. We do not store voice recordings on our servers.

1.2 Conversation data

We process and store: text transcripts of your conversations with the AI; the AI's post-call analysis (mistakes identified, corrected phrasing, suggested vocabulary); and saved dialogs you choose to keep in "Past conversations".

1.3 Learning data

Flashcards you create or that are auto-generated from your call mistakes; spaced-repetition progress (which cards you got right or wrong, when); streak, XP, and daily goal statistics.

1.4 Settings

Your self-reported English level (A1–C1), your UI language preference, and your native language for AI-generated translations.

1.5 Account information (optional)

Sign-in is optional. If you choose to sign in with Apple ID, we receive a unique user identifier, your full name (only on first sign-in, only if you choose to share it), and your email address (which may be Apple's private relay address). If you don't sign in, none of this account information is collected and you can use Loop English as a guest. Features that use AI, voice processing, purchases, or cloud sync still require an internet connection.

1.6 Subscription information

Your subscription product, trial or paid status, purchase and renewal dates, and entitlement status. Apple's App Store processes payment, while RevenueCat helps us verify and manage access to Pro features. We never receive your card number or full payment credentials.

1.7 Analytics (anonymous)

We collect pseudonymous product-usage events to understand which features help learners and where the app needs improvement, such as whether onboarding, a lesson, a card creation, or a subscription step was completed. Events use a random installation identifier and are not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, or Loop English account. We do not include conversation transcripts, voice recordings, words you enter, precise location, advertising identifiers, or device fingerprints, and we do not use these events for advertising.

2. How we use this information

Voice recordings are sent to ElevenLabs Scribe for transcription, then immediately discarded. Transcriptsare sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI conversation generation and post-call analysis; Anthropic does not train its models on your data under our API agreement. Cards and progress are stored locally on your device; if you sign in, they may be synced to your account through Supabase. Account information is used only to identify you across devices. Subscription information is used to grant access to Pro features. Product-usage events are used only to measure feature adoption, reliability, and subscription conversion. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build advertising profiles.

Your consent to AI processing. Because these features send your data to third-party AI services (Anthropic and ElevenLabs), the app asks for your explicit permission the first time you use them, before any data is sent. A screen inside the app explains exactly what is sent and to whom, and you must agree to continue. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (Profile → Account → Delete account) or uninstalling the app.

3. Third parties

Loop English uses the following service providers, each with their own privacy policies:

4. Data storage and security

Data on your device is stored in the app's iOS sandbox using standard application storage and iOS preferences, and is normally removed when you uninstall the app. Cloud data for signed-in users and pseudonymous product-usage events are stored on Supabase servers in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not store payment credentials — those are managed by Apple.

5. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • Delete your account via Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases all your stored data, including cards, conversations, and progress.
  • Stop using the app by uninstalling it. Local data is removed automatically.
  • Decline to sign in — the app works fully without an account.
  • Cancel your subscription via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Apple controls subscription cancellation; we cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.

6. Children

Loop English is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. International users

Your data may be processed in the United States by our service providers (Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Supabase, Vercel, Apple). By using the app, you consent to this processing. If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or export your data — email us at the address below to exercise these rights.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app and reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
